Call Of Duty WWII Vanguard: Release Date, Reveal, & More

Call Of Duty 2021 Release Date, Reveal, & Everything You Need To Know

Recently, during the Earnings Call on February 4, Activision Blizzard confirmed a new Call of Duty title for 2021, which is rumored to be called Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard. So, it’s quite clear that we are getting a new Call of Duty title this year.

Call of Duty Warzone, Activision’s free-to-play title, worked incredibly well in 2020; and millions of players are still playing the game in 2021. Moreover, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the standalone COD title of 2020, garnered even more players for the franchise. In 2021, the studio is set to bring a new “premium” experience to the franchise.

Call Of Duty WWII: Vanguard

A couple of days back, a rumor surfaced on the internet stating that 2021’s Call of Duty title will take us back to World War II. Moreover, according to the sources, the game’s title is Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard. However, this is the working title, meaning that Activision would change the name to something else as they move ahead in the game’s development.

The report also states several cutscenes of Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard will be set in the 1950s. Nevertheless, it’s important to understand that these are just rumors, so it’s better to take this information with a pinch of salt.

COD WWII: Vanguard Expected Release Date

Officially, the new Call of Duty 2021 title doesn’t have a specific release window. However, considering past Activision records, it’s safe to assume that the upcoming COD title might release in October/November.

Call Of Duty 2021 Reveal

Last year, Activision Blizzard announced the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in August. Generally, each year, Activision reveals the new Call of Duty title in May. However, the COD: Black Ops Cold War got a bit delayed because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

If we look at the past trend, Activision might reveal the new Call of Duty 2021 in May this year. Furthermore, we’ll possibly see a short teaser for the game around the same time.

Integration With Warzone

Last year, Activision merged three of its titles, i.e., Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare, and Warzone. This integration worked incredibly well for the studio as well as the players. Fortunately, according to Activision’s latest earnings call, the studio will follow the same trend, with the new Call of Duty coming in 2021.

Rob Kostich, Activision’s President, confirmed that the Call of Duty 2021 title would run parallel to Warzone. Moreover, there are chances that Warzone’s integration with the new COD 2021 title, might urge Activision to exclude Modern Warfare from the bundle. Either that or players will get the option to download the content of four games altogether.

Studio: Who’s Developing The New COD WWII Vanguard Game?

Officially, we don’t know which studio will develop the upcoming Call of Duty game. Last year’s Black Ops Cold War was developed by Treyarch. However, as per some rumors, the mantle to develop the upcoming COD title will be handed over to Sledgehammer Games. For those who don’t know, Sledgehammer Games is well known for its various Call of Duty titles, including 2017’s Call of Duty: WWII.

So, that’s all we know about Activision’s new Call of Duty 2021 title. We’ll update the article if we get some further information on the game.
