It seems that OnePlus might have accidentally revealed the design of its upcoming OnePlus 8T in the code of an Android 11 beta update rolled out for OnePlus 8 Pro. As users are excited for the company to unveil the incremental update to its 8 series, the design reveal could boost up the excitement.
As spotted by Oxygen Updater developers, the latest Android 11 DP contains a reference to OnePlus 8T, codenamed Kebab. A file named “oneplus_8t.webp” has been spotted in the wild, and it includes an image of OnePlus 8T.
There isn’t any visible design change in OnePlus 8T according to the image. It still has a punch hole camera and a blue-themed color scheme. Another thing that’s clearly visible in the purported image of OnePlus 8T is the flat screen, which marks a shift from a slightly curved display of OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.
There isn’t any radical change, but considering the history of OnePlus smartphones, the T series usually comes with performance upgrades and doesn’t focus much on design changes.
The backside of the phone is not visible in the image; hence there is not much to discuss on the rear design yet. There are chances that this image could only be a placeholder and not OnePlus 8T as we think it to be. Therefore, we recommend our users to take this leak with a pinch of salt.
Previously, it was suggested by some leaks that OnePlus 8T will arrive with a 64MP primary camera in comparison to the 48MP sensor in OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. Additionally, OnePlus is also working to bring 8K video recording support to its upcoming devices.
OnePlus is expected to release OnePlus 8T sometime in November, as we have seen with previous T series releases by the company.
