‘The Witcher’ Is Getting A Mobile Game Similar To Pokémon Go

The Witcher is one of the most popular and loved game franchises of the last decade. Well, if you fall into the category of The Witcher fans, then there’s good news for you.

CD Project Red has announced The Witcher: Monster Slayer Augmented Reality (AR) game for Android and iOS, which is quite similar to Pokémon Go. However, instead of catching Pokémons, players will have to kill dangerous monsters in The Witcher mobile game.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer is developed by Spokko, a Polish mobile game development studio which was bought by CD Project Red back in 2018.

In the Witcher AR game for mobiles, players can hunt familiars and new monsters in first-person AR combat. According to the studio, players have to track, study, and fight monsters “using the time of day and real-life weather conditions to gain the upper hand.”

Also, preparation is essential for defeating powerful monsters. Interestingly, players have to craft bombs, brew potions, and oils and upgrade their character before putting themselves in front of a beast in an AR combat.

If you are familiar with The Witcher story, you should know that The Witcher: Monster Slayer’s story takes place before the events of The Witcher books and games.

As of now, there is no official release date for The Witcher: Monster Slayer. However, the game is expected to be released this year for both Android and iOS. Also, the game will be completely free to play.
