Lumina Desktop 1.3 Released with Own, Default Material Design Icon Themes

TrueOS and Lumina Desktop developer Tim Moore announced the release and immediate availability of Lumina Desktop 1.3.0, a significant update of the open-source desktop environment that's used by default in TrueOS.

The biggest change of the Lumina Desktop 1.3 release appears to be the replacement of KDE Project's Oxygen icon theme with its own Material Design icon themes, available in light and dark variants and enabled by default for all new installations, as well as if you're upgrading from a previous Lumina Desktop build.

"The Lumina desktop now distributes it’s own “material-design [light/dark]” icon themes and uses them as the default icon sets," reads the release announcement. "Of course, other icon themes (including the “oxygen” theme) may still be installed and used on-demand as well."
