The Wine Staging development team announced today the release and immediate availability of download of the Wine Staging 2.7 open-source implementation of Wine on GNU/Linux operating systems.
As expected, Wine Staging 2.7 comes hot on the heels of the Wine 2.7 development release, shipping with all of its goodies, such as support for UDP and TCP connections in WebServices, better support for HiDPI settings, window management improvements on macOS, partial reimplementation of the GLU library, and new improvements to Direct3D 11 shaders.
But Wine Staging 2.7 also brings some improvements of its own, such as better support for handling cabinet files in the Setup API, cleanup of existing patches, and various other fixes for some of the most annoying issues reported by users since the Wine Staging 2.6 release.
