Kodi's Martijn Kaijser announced the availability of the first Release Candidate (RC) build of the upcoming point release of the Kodi 17 "Krypton" open-source media center.
Kodi 17.1 "Krypton" will be released in the coming weeks, and it promises a bunch of improvements, in particular for the new Estuary and Estouchy skins. The first RC is out for testing and includes several improvements for the PVR (Private Video Recorder) feature, an updated Chorus web-based interface, and better EDL skipping.
It also looks like there's a new limiter on random songs that prevents huge libraries to consume a lot of system memory, and it's again possible to mark add-ons as broken when they're updated with the "Broken" flag. The song smartplaylist was also improved, as well as the handling of the analog stick.
