It looks like the Solus developers weren't the only ones working hard on the next version of their Linux-based operating systems, as the Netrunner team was happy to announce on the first day of 2017 the immediate availability of Netrunner Desktop 17.01.Dubbed Baryon and rebased on snapshot 20161211 of the upcoming Debian GNU/Linux 9 "Stretch" operating system, Netrunner Desktop 17.01 comes as a drop-in replacement for the previous release, namely Netrunner Desktop 16.09 "Avalon," announced approximately two months ago and based on the Debian GNU/Linux 8.6 "Jessie."
"Netrunner Desktop 17.01 "Baryon" has jumped from Debian Jessie to snapshot "20161211" of the upcoming Debian Stretch," reads the release announcement. "This means the system can be kept on a certain version stack, while it is also easy to enable the corresponding repositories for continuously tested updates."
