AMD quietly unveiled today a new release of its proprietary AMDGPU-PRO graphics driver for Linux-based operating systems, version 16.60, introducing support for older AMD Radeon GPUs from the GNC 1.0 / Southern Islands family.
According to the release notes, the biggest new feature of the AMDGPU-PRO 16.60 driver release is official support for the recently released CentOS 7.3 operating system, but install scripts were provided for CentOS 7.3 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3 platforms since version 16.50.
While AMDGPU-PRO 16.50 graphics driver introduced support for more GPUs from the Southern Islands / GNC 1.0 series, namely AMD Radeon R7 M465X, AMD Radeon R7 M370, and AMD Radeon R7 M350, the AMDGPU-PRO 16.60... (read more)
