Wine Staging 2.6 Is Out for Linux Gamers Based on Wine 2.6, Adds Improvements

The Wine Staging 2.6 open-source software has landed for GNU/Linux gamers, based on the Wine 2.6 development release, bringing various improvements and bug fixes.

Including various of the new features implemented upstream in the Wine 2.6 development release, such as more Shader Model 5 instructions, better font transformations in DirectWrite, and additional support for 3D textures, Wine Staging 2.6 adds support for recent versions of OSMesa, along with various small improvements.

The developers also note the fact that despite what you've probably read lately, the command stream multithreading (CSMT) patchset has not been fully merged at the moment of the release of Wine Staging 2.6, but the devs work around the clock to bring you all the latest goodies so you can enjoy the most recent Windows games and apps on you...
