The development team behind the Debian-based Netrunner GNU/Linux distribution were pleased to announce this past weekend the release and immediate availability of the March 2017 update of the Netrunner Desktop edition.Coming two months after the minor 17.01.2 update, Netrunner Desktop 17.03 "Cyclotron" is powered by the long-term supported Linux 4.9 kernel series and ships with an upgraded KDE stack based on the KDE Plasma 5.9.3 desktop environment, KDE Applications 16.12.2 software suite, and KDE Frameworks 5.31.0.
Among the included apps, we can mention the latest Mozilla Firefox 52.0 ESR web browser and Mozilla Thunderbird 45 email and news client. "Firefox-Plasma 52.0.1 has been updated to the Firefox ESR release channel, meaning it will keep receiving security fixes, but stay stable as not to break kmozillahelper easily," said the devs.
