OpenRA C&C Reimplementation Gets New Stable Release, Here Is What's New

Oliver Brakmann from the OpenRA project, an open-source and cross-platform initiative to offer a reimplementation of the popular Command & Conquer games, announced the availability of a new stable release.

OpenRA Release 20170421 comes almost half a year since the previous stable release and adds a bunch of improvements and new features like HiDPI (High Dots Per Inch) font rendering, a brand new behaviour for both Tiberian Dawn Obelisk and Red Alert Gap Generator, multiplayer improvements, muted Red Alert “shell map” background, the ability to install assets on 32-bit OSes and from original RA95 CDs.

"With 43 developers producing just shy of 800 commits and touching almost 1800 files, this has very likely been one of our slowest release cycles ever. As such, the list of user-visible changes is not as long as you’ve come to expect in earlier years.
