Linux Kernel 4.19 Now Available for Linux Lite Users, Here's How to Install It

Once again, users of the Linux Lite operating system are among the first to receive the most recent Linux kernel series, Linux 4.19, which is now available for installation from the official repositories.

Linux kernel 4.19 was released at the beginning of the week by Greg Kroah-Hartman after a long development cycle consisting of eight Release Candidate (RC) milestones. Linux Lite team led Jerry Bezencon was quick to update the kernel packages to Linux 4.19, which is now available for Linux Lite 4.x and 3.x series.

Highlights of Linux kernel 4.19 include initial support for the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless protocol, CAKE network queue management support, new asynchronous I/O polling interface, new I/O latency controller, new EROFS (Enhanced Read-Only File System) file system, and support for Intel's cache pseudo-lo...
