Black Lab Enterprise Linux Distro Gets Patches Against Meltdown and Spectre Bugs

Roberto J. Dohnert informs Softpedia today on the availability of an update to the Black Lab Enterprise Linux 11 operating system series with patches for the Meltdown and Spectre security vulnerabilities.

Black Lab Enterprise Linux 11.51 is now available for download, a minor update to the GNU/Linux distribution that includes the patches against the Meltdown security vulnerability, as well as partial protection against Spectre attacks. However, existing users need only to update their installations.

"Today we have released Black Lab Enterprise Linux 11.51. This release addresses the Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities in Intel Processors. We have included no new features," says Roberto J. Dohnert, Black Lab Software CEO. "To apply the fix simply run your system updater and the fix will be applied."
