4MLinux developer Zbigniew Konojacki informs Softpedia today about the release and immediate availability of 4MLinux 21.1, a minor update to the 4MLinux 21 stable series of the independently developed Linux-based operating system.
4MLinux 21.0 launched early last month with out-of-the-box support for Windows shares thanks to the implementation of Samba and the CIFS (Common Internet File System) file system. The distro is supported until July 2017, when the 4MLinux 22.0 release hits the stable channel, and will reach end of life on later this year in November.
4MLinux 21.1 is the first point release in the series, and it ships with the long-term supported Linux 4.4.56 kernel, the latest versions of many of the included applications, such as Chromium web browser, SMTube YouTube browser/player, Audacity audio editor, and Mozilla Firefox, for which it fixes a sound issue.
