The open-source, free, and cross-platform SMPlayer video player application has been updated on November 6, 2016, to version 16.11, a release that introduces two new features and fixes various bugs reported by users since the 16.9 stable update.
Two months passed since the release of SMPlayer 16.9 and users can finally update their favorite video player app. Version 16.11 promises to implement a new option called "Show info on OSD" in the View -> OSD menu for displaying video and audio information like bitrate, resolution, container or aspect ration in the OSD (On-screen display).
"The current favorites menu in SMPlayer is not designed to handle many items, however the playlist can support without problem hundreds and even thousands of items, so I think for bookmarks with a lot of items it’s better to use the playlist," explains one of the developers in the release announcement.
