On the last day of October 2016, the developers of the Debian-based Parsix GNU/Linux distribution informed their users about the general availability of a bunch of new security updates, as well as an updated kernel.
Both Parsix GNU/Linux 8.15 "Nev" and Parsix GNU/Linux 8.10 "Erik" are based on the Debian Stable repositories, which means that they are receiving the same security updated that are pushed upstream for the Debian GNU/Linux 8 "Jessie" operating system, but they are being ported to the Parsix GNU/Linux repos.
Since out last report on the security updates pushed to the stable Parsix GNU/Linux repositories, the developers managed to add new versions of the nginx web server, PHP5 server-side scripting language, Asterisk communications framework, as well as to mark the end of life for the VirtualBox 4.3 virtualization software, which is no longer supported upstream.
