Linux Kernel 3.12.67 LTS Released with Many PowerPC and CIFS Improvements

Linux kernel maintainer Jiri Slaby announced the release and general availability of the sixty-seventh maintenance update to the long-term supported Linux 3.12 kernel series.

The Linux 3.12 LTS (Long Term Support) series was supposed to reach end of life earlier this year, but will be maintained for one more year, until spring 2017, because it is currently used in the SUSE Linux Enterprise (SLE) 12 operating system, which just received its second Service Pack (SP) a few days ago. And now, Linux kernel 3.12.67 LTS is here to address various issues since the last point release.

"I'm announcing the release of the 3.12.67 kernel. All users of the 3.12 kernel series must upgrade," said Jiri Slaby.
