Immediately after informing us about the availability of a new kernel update for the Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) operating system, Canonical published more security advisories about updated kernel versions for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS is not the only operating system for which Canonical releases updated kernels that patch various security flaws discovered recently upstream by various Linux kernel developers, and Ubuntu Security Notice USN-3071-1 and Ubuntu Security Notice USN-3072-1 contain details about what's new in today's updates.
